Thai Massage
What is a Thai Massage?
Traditional Thai massage began back in Thailand from a physician over 2500 years ago.
For many therapists, Thai massages are also known as a lazy person’s yoga. This is because a Thai traditional massage combines assisted yoga with acupressure techniques, this is part of the reason why Thai massage practitioners also sometimes work as sports massage therapists.
During the Thai massage session, I’ll incorporate yoga stretching movements and knead the muscles along the body’s energy lines with the hands and feet. As you can see, a Thai massage differs quite a bit from a Western regular massage. However, this deep tissue massage is ideal for those who are struggling with psychological stress, looking to try a Thai medicine or are healthy persons looking for a new experience.
As a Thai massage practitioner, I combine the principles of acupressure and sense the pressure pain threshold of the individual. Many times this involves applying pressure, however, in some instances, it can ease chronic tension-type headache intensity or even solve an underlying health condition.
As a professional, I don’t claim that it’ll solve all health conditions. But this is one of the types of movement therapies that have been found to help the circulatory system, migraine headaches, and more. But I’m no healthcare professional, I wouldn’t want to recommend a Thai massage in place of being medically reviewed by a doctor. This traditional Chinese medicine and yoga-like positions can help to open up the body which can help increase flexibility.
Pregnant women are able to also benefit from this traditional Thai medicine. That’s because these yoga-like stretches can loosen the body and improve the range of motion in the client. If you’re uncomfortable with your body, then you can also wear loose-fitting clothes to the appointment.
The Benefits of Thai Massage
If you’re unsure of the immediate effects that a Thai and Swedish massage can have, then here are a few of the benefits as backed by medical science. Of course, if you’re uncomfortable with anything, then please, do your own basic research or contact me to come to an informed decision.
Mobilises the joints
The use of yoga-style manipulation on a massage table releases tension in the joints and restored depleted energy. Peer-reviewed studies show that this adds mobility and enhances the range of movement. Assisted stretching during the Thai massage can improve circulation and joint mobility, especially if these massage techniques are a consistent treatment. This technique and passive stretching increase suppleness and flexibility in the body.
Improves blood circulation
Another one of the benefits of a Thai massage is that its rigorous nature improves blood circulation and joint pain. If you’re not interested in improving specific points of your body, then avoid Thai massage. But this medically reviewed method of incorporating touch, muscular and skeletal manipulation, and acupressure is proven to effectively boost the body’s circulation.
Balances and increases energy
The benefits of Thai massage also include an increase in energy. The Thai language of massage therapy found that a massage practitioner has the power to shift areas of stagnant energy and allow for a more healthy flow of energy (or Qi). During a Thai massage, I will work to manipulate you into certain positions until the energy is sufficiently released. This will reduce stress and can be done fully clothed.
Researchers concluded that Thai massage reduced sciatica, headaches, stress, and neck pain
The Thai massage technique combines the use of acupressure, joint manipulation, and release of energy meridian flows all work in combination to release tension, ease nerve irritation, and alleviate pain. This can help neurological diseases like sciatica, headaches, ease salivary alpha amylase levels, and other pains.
This supports you for a greater value of life and helps you throughout your future. Whether you’re hoping to improve your athletic performance or just your quality of life, releasing that stress in your muscles can do wonders – especially, in terms of nerve tension, freeing energy flow and releasing emotional tension. Change your life today.
